Classes

We have devised a unique program which incorporates the progymnasmata of the Ancient Greek rhetoricians into a series of activities designed to help students construct and deliver their speech in the modern world. The weekly sessions are conducted with small class sizes to allow everyone the space to develop their voice. We incorporate aspects of classical rhetoric, logic, argumentation, vocal techniques, staging, body language and gesture into our program. Our aim is develop students who can speak with intelligence, authority and authenticity.

Our program is designed to complement schooling in Queensland as we develop skills in the art of persuasion. Skills in persuasion are a backbone of Australian schooling as it is assessed in the English curriculum from Prep-12, NAPLAN and in General English in senior school. Skills in building logical and coherent arguments provide an important foundation across all subjects and year levels.

Beyond schooling, students who are logical, confident and flexible communicators achieve greater success in further education, career opportunities and significant events.
